Just the basics……a low key affair, familiar faces, your neighbourhood friends and family, good music, the venue you love, and of course your NYE shots.

Sandy De Almeida and Mike Webster’s pop-up bar Kindling is recognised for making Toronto better this year by thegridto.com. They are a part of a list of people who made our fine city even finer over the past 12 months.

Veteran bar stars of the Gladstone and Drake, respectively, De Almeida and Webster first bonded over their shared love of liquor at—when else?—last call. Fast forward a few years (and probably a few drinks) and the prix-fixe cocktail pop-up Kindling was born. Thanks to their homemade syrups and expert drink-slinging, the success of their travelling bar—this year at booze haunts like Marben and Unit Bar—even had local mixologists like Jen Agg drinking the (spiked) Kool-Aid. Two booze enthusiasts walk into a bar—and the rest is history.

Closed Christmas eve, Christmas Day.
We are back to operating hours on Thursday, December 29, 2011.

Thursday thru Saturday 7:00 p.m. until last call
Closed Sunday through Tuesday.

* We will be open on Friday December 23, 2011 to give you that “liquid courage” to get you through your family time.

AnOther’s Lovers unveils their love for “Automatic Whisky,” a whisky and soda machine from the 1960′s. We need this in our bar!

Whisky (Scottish English) or whiskey (Hiberno-English) is the tipple of choice for as disparate figures as British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and American musician Kid Rock (who references the beverage in many of his songs). A type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash, whisky is derived from an Anglicisation of a Goidelic name literally meaning “water of life.” Prolific author Mark Twain once famously said, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much of good whiskey is barely enough.”
